The MRI Academic Group is an informal network of academics, researchers and health informatics from all of Kenya's leading institutions and seeks to find funding, partnership and share best practice throughout Kenya.
The group particularly recognises there is an immediate need to address Kenya's skills deficit in:
The use and application of health information systems and technology in delivering better and more cost-effective health care.
The international eHealth industry where high-skilled health informatics specialists are in great demand – an opportunity for Kenya to provide these skills and internationally traded services from an Kenyan base.
The innovation, development and support of new eHealth systems and technologies, creating an opportunity for significant foreign direct investment by leading industries as well as a base of new product development for Kenyan companies.
